Mama Opportunities Blog

As Moms, we have so many opportunities with our children to encourage, support, guide, teach them. I created the Mama Opportunities podcast to help Moms think through common situations ask the question, “What is the Opportunity?”. I offer thoughts and questions that Moms can use as a springboard for reflection in their own lives.

When our behavior is in harmony with our beliefs, it brings more clarity and peace. I record each episode with a busy Mom in mind. It is a short, weekly podcast so that Moms can listen on the go.

In addition to the weekly podcast, there are many resources available on this website. Thanks for spending some of your valuable time here!

About Me

Hey Mama, I’m Julia!

I was raised in a suburb of Chicago, IL, in a happy home. I graduated from Taylor University in Indiana with a degree in Elementary Education. After college, I moved to Nashville and worked in youth ministry at a church.

After a few years, I started teaching in public schools, and I completed a Master’s degree at Tennessee State University in Curriculum and Instruction. My training included many classes in child development.

I have been a nanny, public elementary school teacher, Sunday school teacher, youth leader, camp director, piano teacher, and various other roles interacting with and leading children.

I am a Mom to four daughters, and we live in Nashville, TN, with our favorite guy. My husband and I love Jesus and His Word. As a follower of Christ, my desire is for my attitudes, actions, and thoughts to flow from my relationship with Jesus. If this is not your worldview, I hope you will continue reading. You are welcome here.

In addition to being with my family, I love to hang out with friends, read, bake, and complete projects.
